Hand rank and procedural outcome

A category comparison is one part of a rules question.

The category order

The reference order is Trail, Pure Sequence, Sequence, Colour, Pair, High Card.

Keep two tasks separate

First identify what the three-card comparison establishes. Then read the procedure that applies to the situation. Equal rank is not, by itself, a general instruction to split a pot.

Record the convention

An ace-run question needs the selected ordering. This website focuses on procedure and does not provide an automated ranking engine.

Explain the limit

A hand diagram can show ranks and suits, but it cannot show who made a request or whether the action was permitted. Keep those facts in the record.
